32 GB SSD with 119 MB / s from 99 Euro
The storage specialist transcend presents very high data throughput in the 2, 5-inch with a, in relation to the price, four new high-speed-SSD with 32 and 64 GB. This is to ensure the SATA II interface and the used JMicron controller.
As one of the first memory manufacturer transcend announces the availability of its “Flash-based” 32 GB and 64 GB 2.5-inch solid state disk (SSD) with JMicron controller on. This is four models: 32 or 64 GB each with SLC-or MLC NAND flash chip. The SLC variants with 32 / 64 GB reach up to 119 MB / s (read) or 64 MB / s (write), the MLC version is a little slower with 119/43 MB / s.
The 2, 5-inch SSD has a sturdy metal housing and has a shallow construction height of only 7.4 mm. The lower power consumption increases the energy efficiency of the computer system and thus may the duration of a battery, where the actual application profile of the PC can be decisive here. Secure data transmission is ensured by the 4-bit ECC error correction. The integrated wear-leveling algorithm distributes data evenly across the sectors of the SSD and reaches to the life of over 2,000,000 write / erase cycles. The power consumption of the SSDs is located at 0.5 Watts in the read / write, 0.1 Watt in 0.06 Watts in standby. The recommended retail prices are for 32 GB (MLC) 99 Euro incl. VAT, for 32 GB (SLC) 299 for 64 GB (MLC) of $199 and for the 64 GB model with SLC 549 euro.
