Development of 3DMark2003 almost completed
For a long time it was quiet around the developer company of 3DMark99, 3DMark2000 and 3DMark2001. More than a trip to the Department who adjusted system benchmarks with PCMark2002 and one error and advanced 3DMark2001 pixel shader tests version not vergönnt us this year.
Already in his time late release of 3DMark2001 made it clear that Madonion or Futuremark will not respect the release-cycle of the previous versions. The development of elaborate tests was simply too time-consuming. However, the wait for a new version of 3DMark will be coming to an end. The development work seem to be already well advanced, the Kompatiblilitätstests are already in full swing. In the own forums, a Futuremark developer expressed as follows:

When DX9 comes out we still have lots of compatibility testing to do we have the pre-release versions of DX, but we must ensure 3DMark03 runs correct so on the final DX9. So when DX9 is released, you’ll still have to wait for a while.
I do not of know when NVIDIA is going to launch the GFfx, but if it occurs around the are time we launch, those two events not related. If we could, we would launch immediately, but we must ensure this 3DMark is of as high quality as the previous versions.

An idea of 3DMark2003 is, not was to be expected, only after the completion of DirectX 9.0 in question. The good thing: Microsoft has completed almost development work on the next graphic and multi media interface. However also still no official release date is determined, only it is sure that the software giant would be finished this year. Thus, a version of 3DMark2003 is most likely early next year, not least due to the names. In addition not surprising, it would be if Futuremark, although you certainly does not want to admit it, the new 3DMark-Version together, be it intended or ungewolllt, would send graphics cards at the start with the next nVidia GeForce FX.
