Google and Yahoo to negotiate with US-Justice
Last week Google and Yahoo have announced to move the start of cooperation in the online advertising market planned for October. Reason for this is that more time should be given the US judicial authority, to investigate the impact of cooperation on free competition.
According to a report by the Wall Street Journal the company should have now included negotiations with the “Department of Justice”. In addition to the guardians of competition also associations criticize the agreement; fear is a possible monopolization of the online advertising market. The parties however are in line with the US laws, yet moving towards apparently the authorities they. Lawyers responsible for the negotiations shared with that Yahoo wants to limit the number of ads from Google and still would occur as a competitor to the market leader in search advertising.
The cooperation designed for four years was announced in June, previously, Microsoft had tried for several months to take over Yahoo. The agreement under Google provides ads that are displayed next to the search results from Yahoo and will give the company additional income of $ 800 million per year. However, critics fear that Google could expand the dominance in the online advertising market with the agreement and so competitive harm.
