Intel relies on developing countries
The leading chipmaker Intel reinforces its commitment to developing countries. In the next five years, the company will invest approximately $ 1 billion. The development of cheap PCs is included in the budget.
And not only that: even fast Internet access will be made available to people in the so-called “third world”. The investment runs at Intel on the claim “World Ahead” and should include the training of Internet trainers. A key issue in the programme is the development of a cheap PC – which by the newly obtained computer users purchased, and that Intel is to make profits. Accurate to the cheap PC wants to announce expected tomorrow, Intel CEO Paul Otellini Wednesday. With the program Intel encounters before in the realm of direct competitor AMD, in the “one laptop per child” project of ex-MIT Professor Nicolas Negroponte involved.
