The US Association of RIAA music industry brought 532 new actions for copyright infringement through file-sharing in US federal courts. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported total 532 individuals are affected by the proceedings Wednesday.

The new wave of litigation the RIAA directed specifically against University networks. The accused user have made available music files over the network from 21 universities in the Internet.

The single user have offered online 837 music files according to the RIAA on average to Exchange. The identities of file sharers are not yet known. American universities have, amongst other things also music of powerful high speed Internet access, a large number of students up and download. Universities are therefore very early into the visor of the RIAA. Although they are committed to cooperation and already offer copyright seminars for the users of their networks, it are likely to be a major venue for file sharing next.

The RIAA has tabled now nearly 2,000 suits against individual users. Already, agreements had been made in 408 cases. Such an agreement will cost the user an average of around $3,000 and the obligation to provide any music files more online.
