The media mogul Rupert Murdoch is planning a digital newspaper for the iPad. Unlike in previous writings, these should appear as however exclusively for the Tablet PC and thus neither online nor print are published.

Murdoch is founder and Chairman of News Corporation, the world’s largest media conglomerate. His decisions in dealing with new media were already in the past for attention, such as Murdoch who made available to the online edition of “The Times” only paying customers. A further project will provide media reports resulted as well for attention. So as the reported New York Times the introduction of a purely digital newspaper for the iPad that early next year is planned. The newspaper “Daily” is to be distributed then every day exclusively on the Apple tablet.

For this endeavor an own editorial was established already with over 100 employees, that is to work exclusively in the future for the daily. Although content should be used by other members of the News Corp. about sport clips of broadcaster Fox Sports, mainly to the editors of the daily but independent content edit and the daily update news should arise. You then but yet not directly wants to compare with the speed of online spending. The price for the daily newspaper will be at 99 US cents a week.

It is however still unclear which will be granted the project. Murdoch even hopes for a massive spread of iPads. Then even a fraction of the Tablet owner would be sufficient to economically operate the daily. It is unclear whether the offer with the time will be extended also to other Tablet PCs. This step should depend less on the technical possibilities of the devices as instead of the established payment system from Apple.
