The Japanese cooling specialist Scythe introduces new products currently almost at weekly intervals. Today, the fan portfolio is extended with the “GentleTyphoon” series. The series developed by the Japanese group Nidec servo Corporation is to provide a high static pressure and optimized fan blades.

The GentleTyphoon series consists of five 120-mm and three 92 mm models, with the slowest-rotating model of the 120 mm fan with 500 rpm at a volume of 5 dBA and an airflow of 31 m /h is specified. The most powerful model works with 1,850 rpm at a noise level of 28 dBA and an airflow of 98 m³/h. The 92 mm models work with exerting minimum between 1,700 and 2,650 rpm and thereby achieve an air flow between 44 and 71 m³/h.

The fans are equipped with a double ball bearing and specified with a lifetime (MTBF) of 100,000 hours at 35 ° C or 60,000 hours at 60 ° C (the fastest models at 60 ° C only with 55,000 hours). To reduce noise a Powertrain is the newly developed engine used, over a so-called “double vibration reduction” structure, which is intended to reduce vibrations with additional damping rings. The 120 mm models should be available from immediately including a 4-pin Molex adapter and four bolts at a suggested retail price of 9.90 euros in trade.
